04 May TCB Closure Alert #11
Full Nightly Closures of Topanga Canyon Blvd (SR-27) for Slope Repair
Motorists will be detoured to Malibu Canyon Road and Las Virgenes Road
The California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) announced full nightly closures of Topanga Canyon Blvd. (SR-27) between Pacific Coast Highway (SR-1) and Grand View Dr. near Jalan Jalan, Imports for emergency repair work and to restore eroded slope embankments along TCB.
The full closures will take place nightly between 10:00pm to 5:00am from Monday, May 6 to Thursday, May 9.
This year, the hillsides along TCB had multiple rock and debris slides onto the highway, triggering full closures of the highway sometimes for days.
Signs will be in place advising motorists to use US-101, Las Virgenes Road and Malibu Canyon Road as an alternate route. Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to use alternate routes or avoid the area. The town of Topanga will remain open to motorists.
All work is weather permitting and subject to change.
Drivers can check traffic conditions before they leave by visiting the CalTrans Quickmap.
CalTrans reminds drivers to be “Work Zone Alert” and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
