23 Feb TCB Closure Alert #4
One-Way Traffic Control on Topanga Canyon Blvd (SR-27)
for Slope Stabilization Project
Delays are expected for daytime closure
TOPANGA – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will a close Topanga Canyon Blvd. (State Route 27) between Pacific Coast Highway and Grand View Dr. next week for a construction assessment and environmental survey. Several mud and rock slides have occurred on the hillsides of SR-27 in recent months that caused full closures of the highway.
On Monday, February 25 to Thursday, February 28, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., crews will be closing a half mile of the southbound lane of Topanga Canyon Blvd., just south of Grand View Dr. One-way traffic control measures will be in place for the public during the closure time.
All work is weather permitting and subject to change.
Motorists should expect delays and are strongly advised to use alternate routes. Drivers can check traffic conditions before they leave by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap. The town of Topanga will remain open to motorists.
The work is part of an emergency contract to stabilize the slope and make roadway repairs on Topanga Canyon Blvd. Access Limited Construction Inc. of Oceano, California. is the contractor for the project.
Caltrans reminds drivers to be “Work Zone Alert” and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
